Prayer Request

Patriarchal message

Beloved in Christ, Grace and peace to you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We give thanks to our Lord for His abundant mercy and for guiding the Nazrani Syrian Christian community from Kerala, India, to the blessed land of New Zealand. By His grace, you have flourished and upheld the sacred traditions of our holy Church. It brings us great joy to witness the establishment of a beautiful church, dedicated to the worship of the Holy Trinity. This is a true testament to your faith, unity, and devotion. We also acknowledge the powerful intercessions of Saint Mor Geevargese Gregorios of Parumala, whose prayers continue to strengthen our faithful. May this house of worship stand as a beacon of light and a sanctuary of grace for generations to come. We pray that the Lord bless you all and keep you steadfast in the apostolic faith. In Christ’s love,

His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem

church day

Established in August 2008, Mor Gregorios Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church serves as a spiritual home for individuals and families of the Syrian Christian tradition who have made New Zealand their home. Founded by a devoted group of believers from Kerala, our church remains committed to preserving the sacred traditions of the Jacobite Syrian Orthodox faith and celebrating the Holy Eucharist in the Malayalam language.

At the core of our community is a deep commitment to Christian fellowship, spiritual growth, and strengthening our relationship with God. Our Holy Mass is conducted in every Saturday, offering a meaningful and familiar worship experience for those who cherish our faith’s rich heritage. We warmly welcome all who share this tradition and invite you to join us in worship, prayer, and community life. If you or someone you know is seeking a faith-centered community, we encourage you to connect with us. Our congregation comprises families from various regions of Kerala, making Whangarei a place where you can find a sense of belonging among those who share your cultural and spiritual background.

Whether you are new to Northland or have been part of the community for years, we welcome you to join our faith family and share in the joy of worshiping together. Explore our website to learn more about our ministries, events, and ways to get involved. May the grace of God be with you always!.
